I have been taking effexor xl 150mg daily for the past 3 months along with my blood pressure medication of bisoprolol beta-blockers. Can anybody tell me if tey have taken effexor xl and it has caused a significant rise in their blood pressure, because my bp seems to of gone up from almost normal to somewhere in the region of 145-160/ 85-95.

I havent heard of it but ask a pharmacist to look up his list of effexor problems

I was on Effexor and didn't notice a rise in my bp - but before that I was on Zoloft for about a year and my bp was through the roof. My doctor informed me that all anti-depressants have the ability to raise your bp - just depends on how your body reacts. Good luck!!

I've been on Effexor for a year now and there was no change in my blood pressure.
