OK today is my first day off paxil and on prozac so far i dont feel a differance but what im curious about is what my shrink said. He said that if paxil worked good for me i have a very good chance on prozac being equallly effective? he also said that 6 or 7 out of 10 poeple will respond well to an anti depresssant ANY anti depressant that is! :bouncing: just trying to see some truth to this?

Paxil & Prozac are in the same family of drugs - SSRI's (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) so he's probably right. I've taken three different SSRI's and they all worked for me (I changed a few times because of side effects).

Yep I agree. I am also a Medical Assistant...worked with a lot of docs. The reason I mention this is because...lots of docs prescribe ssri's, and they see a round spectrum of population and see how people respond.
My experience taking zoloft, paxil, through the years and then lexapro, and now celexa has been simular. My responses have all been simular, they work for me.
