I think I have TMJ. Please recommend some decently affordable herbs or home treatments to help with my TMJ. Thank you. I know I have it.

To be honest with you I don't know of anyone who has used anything herbal and had any success with it. There was a lady who said that magnesium helped her, so I went out and bought some. I'm willing to try anything at this point. It was only about four dollars for a bottle, but it didn't help me at all. As far as home treatments, I use a heating pad every night and throughout the day (when I'm not at work) and it helps a great deal. Some people use ice instead, or they alternate heat and ice. I would be careful about some of those products out there that promise to take away pain because I think they are just a waste of money. Good luck to you.

Theres no pain in the jaw yet, but theres a clicking/grinding/popping noise on my left side everytime I open my jaw, my teeth hurt inexplicably once in a while even when nothing is touching them and ive had a 20 decibel hearing loss on that side as a cause of it.

There are some herbal treatments as well as home treatments that, in the past, did help my TMJ pain.

They once helped me. I can not honestly say anything about the safety of the herbs, so be really careful with them and talk to a doctor before you take any herbs.

One of them is Valerian root. It helps you relax. Once upon a time, I took it to help aid in sleeping.

A second herbal treatment is one I found online. The name of it is Serinitol. Its' quite expensive; though, with severe pain, I am almost willing to do or pay any amount of money. It didn't work for me; but, there are a lot of testimonials about it..[ removed ]

As far as what you can do at home. ...The one thing that has helped me was wetting a handtowel and putting it in the microwave for 15 second intervals until it was hot enough to the touch without scorching me.

Hope this helps.

No, but it might be. I'm going to ask my dentist on Jan 6th.

And it's done this since about august or so.

My jaw DOES NOT HURT ONE BIT. But, I think it might later on down the road, i show three symptoms

1. Teeth hurt inexplicably for no reason, when to dentist, no cavaties whatsoever.

2. Jaw pops on left side kinda loudly everytime I open it up.

3. Blocked left ear (and thus the loss of some tones on my left ear and some hearing as well. I hope its not sensorineural loss)
