Hi Everyone, I usually post in the inner ear threads but browse threw here for inspiration and information. I have a history of painic attacks and anxiety, went away (took a couple of years) but has come back with BPPV an inner ear problem. The anxiety has changed form slighlty, can't believe the sly dark fears and all the ways they can pop up.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had a smilar experience to mine on lexapro. I took 2.5 only once and had such BAAAAAAAAD anxiety. My stomach was in knots and I was holding on, holding on to hold it together, took.17 of xanax probably not enough and as soon as it wore off I felt the speed like feeling again. I barely slept or ate for 2 days on 2.5 of Lexapro. I think the Dr will suggest Zoloft. Trying not to use Xanax as it can hinder inner ear compensation. How do you all find the SSRI's work for anixety?

Thanks
JAde

This is funny because I am going from Zoloft to Lexapro. I like Zoloft alot but I had no sex drive with it so I am trying something different. Everyones results are different so give Zoloft a try..
Good luck!!!

all antidepressant meds can make your anxiety worse at first, the result cant be predcted so its trial and error

this problem isnt mentioned to docs by drug companies in their promotions, so many arent aware of it or dismiss patients complaints as exageration or hypochondria

some lucky ones get no early side effects at all but they can be a very real problem for others, Ive tried many antidepressants and have had no problems on some but severe early side effects from others

a smaller starting dose and some valium helps

Thanks for the replies. Dr won't try me on anything else except Paxil due to my streng response. 2 days feeling like your on speed.. In meantime he said to take the Xanax.
