I NEED HELP! My father was hit, while driving his truck, by a semi nearly 3 years ago. Although the semi driver was going at least 70 miles an hour at the time, my father lived, be it by miracle, fate, or chance. His "only" injury was a serious blow to the head. He was diagnosed with a mild tramatic brain injury, the only thing "mild" about it being that you didn't die from it. It has completely destroyed his life. He suffers from memory loss, fatigue, confusion, clinical depression, daily incapacitating headaches, tinitus and a plethora of other medical problems related to his injury. He rarely leaves the house. HAS ANYONE OUT THERE EVER GOTTEN SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY FOR A HEAD INJURY? He has gone to two extensive clinics, one specifically for brain injuries and the other for managing pain. He has also been seeing doctors for three years. ALL say he is completely disabled, cannot possibly work. However, the judge assigned to the case has decided that my father is a cheat, a lier, someone who is just out for a free ride, despite the medical evidence to the contrary. My father had a wonderful business before the accident. He didn't want to give it up. It is lost now, all those years of hard work, and a judge thinks he did this to get $600 a month from the government? Please, if you have any experience with this, or no someone, anyone who does, PLEASE help. We are at the end of our rope and have been waiting three years to hear if we will even get it or not. I don't know what to do but i would love to hear from anyone who has won a case like this. Thank you.

Hope a page I've checked into may be of some help. It's astounding to me the shape of medicine, government and the entire world it seems today. The location gives lots of links and advice. It is at http://www.jonsplace.org/CHFssd.htm
Wish you the best-

There are many people who have real injuries only to be wrongly denied benefits by agencies of the government. Right now, the Department of Labor is illegally denying legitimate claims made by injured federal workers. Thousands of them. There seems to be no depth to which they won't sink.

I your father's situation, I suggest you ask for your Congressman's assistance. Some will help. Some are *******s. But, they can exert some influence if they want to. The are also certain groups on the Internet that can assist you. So, do look around. Good Luck.

Your fathers situation is the exact reason attorneys exist. Talk to an attorney that specializes in SSD. Do not talk to an attorney that has a general practice. Attorneys up here where I live that do SSD, do only SSD. They get paid if your father gets benifits. SSD sends out two party checks. Never pay out of your pocket for
a consult. A reputiable attorney would never ask. Best of luck.
