I am a 29 year old female, about a year ago I had facial paralises that lasted 3 weeks.
Now as of January 2001 I am now expierencing the same symptoms. tightness in facial muscles around my mouth, dry raw tongue, tightness in my throat muscles, droopie eyes, with some twitching around the edges of the eyes, and I have lost my vocabulary skills. My speech is fine untill I try to carry on a lengthy conversation. I am unable to make sharpe constients. every word is slurred and ends up coming out in vowels. If anyone has heard a hearing impared person speak before this is what my speech sounds like. I have had blood tests ran and recently had a CT scan done and nothing has shown up. IF THERE IS ANYONE THAT HAS HAD THESE SYMPTOMS OR IT SOUNDS FAMILAR. COULD YOU PLEASE POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION TO BEGIN TO KNOW HOW AND WHERE TO START LOOKING UP POSSIBLE KNOWN DIEASE'S.
THANK YOU

Do you have any other medical procedure, dental work for example, that might have set off your symptoms? I have tightness around the jaw muscles and twitching around the eyes also but I am most certain that it was caused by poor dental work and have been recently diagnosed with TMJ. Have your symptoms eased up somewhat?

TMJ is a common source with these symptoms, check that out I'd suggest.
