My 8 yr old has mentioned several times about her mind going 100 mph while the rest of her is moving at normal speed. What is really strange is that I had this same thing happen about a week ago. Does anyone know what this is?

It sounds like manic behavior. It can be caused by genetics or a sensitivity to stimulents such as caffene. Try adjusting your diet to eliminate products that contain caffene and reduce your sugar intake. Increase fruits and vegetables in your diet except for bananas. Bananas have a lot of natural sugar in them so don't eat to many.

After you have done that for a couple weeks, you should notice a difference. If not, it's time to talk to your family doctor.

Hi
I've been having that since I was 11 .
Have never had anyone (drs.) able to tell me what they where so i just lived with it.And at 14 I never mentioned it again.
Then when I was 32 I had 2 seizures. Was put on meds. I'm 40 now and haven't had a Episode since.Episode is what I called them.
I don't know if it has anything to do with my
epilepsy. Don't wait take yourself and your
daughter to a doctor. Mabye you can find one that can tell you what this is!

Me and my son do this same thing we have both been dx as Bipolar. (manic depressive) you might want to talk to yourhealth care professional. unless of course you feel you can live with it i guess.

Hello,

I am curious as to what the outcome of you daughter's racing mind was. Have you looked into ADD ( atention deficit disorder)? Please let me know what you found out. I also have a racing mind and often lay awake at night wiht it.
