I was wonder how hypnosis works for anxiety and constant nervousness? What does the therapist do? I would like to consider hypnosis but I need some info. Thanks

In your case the Hypnosis will implant suggestions in your mind to help you find calm in times of anxiety. Anxiety and stress are learned responses to stimulation. When you learn to refocus these feelings into productive energy, you feel much better.

When going for a session. Go with curiosity. Know that it can't harm you because your mind wouldn't allow it.(The doctor can not make you cluck like a chicken unless you want to.) Make sure you are well rested and avoid caffiene just before your session.

Hi There NW001, I have to say that I have had hypnosis for the last year on and of for panic attacks and anxiety and it was the best thing I ever had!! I came away from my sessions feeling like a new person I was taught how to breath properly which made all the difference to me,, I was never put into a state where I had no control, I could have just opened my eyes at any time if i wanted to, my theripist was excellant she spoke to me first and asked questions all about my life and if I had any traumas or bad upsets and she worked around what I told her, as Robert2 says it makes you focus on things in a clearer way, it was all to do with my subconsious telling me things I did'nt want to know or did'nt want to deal with. There was no real reason for my panic attacks when they happened.

I was quite nervous the first time I went because I had seen all sorts of theripist's and was on all different kinds of meds and I just thought 'oh no not another therepist'After about 3 sessions I was off the meds and and felt really good I now do breathing excersise 20 mins everyday and I dont have to go anymore. Dont worry about being relaxed when you go, I gurrentee you will be when you come out! I hope this helps, you can email me if you want some more info I found out a lot about my life whilst I was there and how to change things..once in a while I feel anxious but because I know how to deal with it I dont go into a bad panic anymore!
