pleasehelp1 12-15-2004, 04:57 AM It has been 3 months since i was set up by gang members at a party. It makes me sick even thinking about the incident, just know the drug underworld is violent place. I was knocked out, raped (i am a male), and injected methamphetamine into my bloodstream which i later found out from one of the members that the needle contained hiv/aids.
It has been 3 months since the incident. I am so scared to get tested because everything i read about injected hiv into the bloodstream says it is the most contagious form. I feel in my mind 100% that i am infected and there is no hope for me. So why even bother getting a test? Please someone tell me there is a little hope for me. I seriously want to die. This is making me crazy.
Someone tell me that there is not a 100% chance i am infected? Any statistics, info, or anything to ease my mind. Although i know deep inside that it is hopeless.
Don't get involved with hard drugs.
victoria48 12-15-2004, 07:12 AM I'm so sorry to hear about your terrible experience.
From everything you have said about these people, you cannot be confident that they are telling you the truth. They could have just made up that story to worry you.
Do yourself a favour and get tested. Getting tested will not change whether you have been infected or not but it will give you a chance of living a better life if you are infected (as you will then have access to medication) and living a whole better life if you are not infected (as all of your worry will be gone).
Stats showing your chances of infection cannot help you. The only way to know for sure and move on from this is to get tested.
pleasehelp1 12-15-2004, 11:05 AM I know for a fact that i was injected HIV. that is a fact. It has to do with drug cases and i dont wanna talk about it. What i do want to know is if the virus automatically in you once it enters bloodstream or is there a possiblity it got faught off naturally?
victoria48 12-15-2004, 11:42 AM The virus is not automatically transferred to anyone after a needle stick or unprotected sex, which is why some people contract HIV after one exposure and some people have thousands of exposures without contracting it.
You say that you are certain that HIV was in the needle but this would be just about impossible to know. You have said that methamphetamine was injected into you so I assume that someone who used the needle before you has told you that they are HIV positive. If they are definitely HIV positive and used the needle before you then you obviously have suffered quite a serious exposure but it is still not definite that you will have contracted it.
I can tell from your last post that you are very stressed out about this and the only way to get rid of this feeling is to get tested. Ask yourself, whatever the result - could you feel any worse than you do right now?
Regina21 12-15-2004, 12:08 PM I agree. You don't know for a fact that you have HIV until you go get tested.
Halls 12-15-2004, 12:48 PM You don't know anything until you get tested. So, go and get tested so you can quit worrying about it. Good luck.
Halls
pleasehelp1 12-16-2004, 03:18 AM Thanks everyone. I appreciate the posts. I know i have to get tested. I read that hiv blood when exposed to the air, the hiv dies off after several minutes. But if they got fresh blood from an infected person, and then seconds after infected me with needle while i was passed out then i would say its probably 95% chance i am infected. And to add more worry to the situation, what if the person the gang members got the infected blood from was very far along in the aids cycle? Like having aids for 5-7years and had low cell counts? This sucks.
I guess i am looking for anyone who is familiar with cases like this where someone was intentionaly given hiv and came out with negative test results.
Here is a link where a guy with hiv positive slept with 17 women unprotected and only about 5 of them came out positive. so maybe i have a 1/3rd chance of being negative? Stuff like this gives me a little encouragement.

Lenin 12-16-2004, 08:45 AM please help,
There are three other possiblities:
1. You were LIED to to scare you (it DID.)
2. You are IMMUNE to AIDS (A small portion of the population IS.)
3. LUCK was on your side that day...(sometimes we just WIN!)
Get the test.

That is not a possiblity. These people had reason to do this to me. And i was flashed crip gang bandanas and threatened. drug game=bad. Not worth talking about
2. You are IMMUNE to AIDS (A small portion of the population IS.)
I hope you were being sarcastic? Either way, that small portion you talk of must be something like 1 in 100,000
3. LUCK was on your side that day...(sometimes we just WIN!)
Thats what i like to hear. I'm hoping i am lucky. I want to see statistics and such that prove that just because you inject hiv once into bloodstream it doesn't mean you will be automatically infected.
Get the test.
I'm holding off on the test for a few more weeks just to make sure if i get a negative result i wont ever have to worry about going to get tested again. (Unless ofcourse more unforunate exposure occurs)
If I do come out on top, being negative, I swear to God,Buddah, or whomever I will always use the best condoms ALWAYS and I will never inject a drug again, and I will live a happy safe life.
But if i am positive...
:(
I will be sure to find this thread when my time comes to let you all know the result. Thanks everyone.
Regina21 12-16-2004, 11:00 AM Good Luck! You are in my prayers.
Anastasia 12-17-2004, 12:38 AM you poor guy! i don't care what you did, or were accused of doing but to inject you with AIDS is beyond sick! i have several enemies and would wish some terrible things on them but NEVER AIDS/HIV! i feel for you. your situation is brutal. i'll keep my fingers crossed for you:)

Hi Pleasehelp..
Do get tested.. Then you will know..
If you don't get tested, you are going to worry youself into a paranoia if you
aren't suffering from it already.
These people are not nice and may even be dangerous to others.
Hopefully, you aren't still self-medicating with illegal drugs.
Even if you are infected, you can live a long life with the right meds...
Just look at Magic Johnson.

coulditbe 12-17-2004, 01:13 AM that is wrong i hope your ok :(
that is wrong i hope your ok :(
Hi Coulditbe,
are you talking to me? What is it that you find wrong?
Did I say that I was not ok?
Ron
Regina21 12-17-2004, 10:27 AM I do believe he was referring to the man that was talking about the possible HIV injected into his veins. THat's what was wrong and he was hoping he was okay.
coulditbe 12-17-2004, 03:59 PM im talking about the man injected with the hiv, thats sad and i hope he be ok.
Lenin 12-18-2004, 11:26 AM No Joke about the "AIDS immunity." As much as 2% of the population could be immune to the development of AIDS. A fascinating program on PBS traced it back with a high correlation so some sets of genes in Europe that had immunity to the PLAGUE virus...certain families just didn't get it. Their ancestors seem to be the ones that are immune to AIDS. The cells are missing certain requirements for attachment and transmillion from the virus.
NEVER count on this though...your guess might be wrong.
Mcgunther 12-22-2004, 08:28 PM if this is true and you come out positive that is murder.
Heavensent102 12-22-2004, 11:58 PM Yeah... it is first degree murder if you are posotive.... intenial will to kill....
pleasehelp1 01-05-2005, 12:09 PM Hey all. I just want to post a follow-up. It has been 3 months since the IV hiv injection and i got tested a few weeks ago. I just got back the results and i am negative.
Is this a miracle or what? Injected HIV+ needle straight into bloodstream and my body faught it off. How lucky am i?

Call it a miracle if you wish...
I hope that you have learned a lesson.
Now.. just stop seeing such people and assure that you will never be exposed again. You could gain a lot by joining a church group and seeing how the other half lives. At least, that way, you could sleep soundly without worrying.
Incubus_Cali 01-05-2005, 03:58 PM realize how lucky you are my friend and make a change for your life.
Regina21 01-05-2005, 04:23 PM YOu don't know for sure if those guys were telling the truth...they might have just been lying to you about the needle in order to scare the living breath out of you and they succeeded. In any case however, I'm ESTATIC to here that you are okay. congrats!
elggon 01-05-2005, 04:37 PM Congrats! I am very happy for you that this stressful period of your life is over. May God be with you.
skadoo101 01-06-2005, 05:31 PM Congrats and now stay away from such people. Also, I hope you don't get any confidence thinking that your body fought off the virus.
Perhaps there was never any HIV on the needle. Or, even if there had been, HIV is very fragile so it could have died off before the needle was stuck in you. So please don't think you're immune.
Also, you might want to seek some counseling from professional. Someone attempted to murder you (or at least wanted you to believe they did) and you were raped.
Good luck man, I'm glad you are going to be around for awhile!
