Since Saturday I have had a tingling sensation down there. It is not when I urinate. The feelin is down in my genitle area, but only on one side. I am not sure what else this could be other than an STD? Has this happened to anyone else? I made an apt. to get this checked out, but now the tingling is starting to subside. Should I still go in and get tested, or do you think it is nothing. I don't have any bumps down there, that is why I am not sure if it is an std or not. Please, any advice would be helpful!!
Thank you!

ummmm this just the tingling.. it really sounds like herpes... u should go post this message under the herpes msg board..... because if u had received oral sex and he had a coldsore on one side... you will only tingle on that side... if he already had genital herpes it could have just infected one side... the only std that is tingling is herpes...go get a blood test done as soon as u can and cross your fingers. goodluck, xox

Since you ONLY have some "tingling" please don't automatically assume that's it herpes okay? If you have had unprotected sex that may cause room for some concern, but I wouldn't put off your Dr. Appointment even if the sensation is subsiding. Go get it checked out as soon as possible. The sooner you know the better you'll feel. Good luck!

I understand. But she never explained her sexual activity...whether she was a virgin or was in fact sexually active. Now if she has never been intimate with anyone I doubt it could be herpes. However, if she has been intimate with someone -unprotected- then there may be cause for concern. Just didn't want to jump to conclusions and scare her. However, I believe going to the Dr. is to her best benefit.

Thanks for the input. I have been with my boyfriend for about a year. He doesn't have any lumps or bumps or tingling sensations. So If this is an std, I don't understand why he doesn't have any symptoms? A while ago I remember feeling this tingling sensation, but went away right away. Around that time I did develop one sore down there. I went in and had it tested, but they never called me back... so I take it it wasn't herpes? She said she thought it was from friction? They said no news is good news. Anyway, they didn't give me a blood test, just poked it and tested it that way I guess. I don't have any sores this time. I am kind of scared that it might be something worse than herpes. I mean can I have herpes w/o any sores down there. And if so why has it taken so long for me to be diagnosed or to catch it from him.
Any one else have this happen to them? Any more input? :)
Thanks!

Since you are worried about it then you really should go get it checked out. Don't believe the whole "no news is good news" i hate that expression. Sometimes the front office just forgets to update you. Happened to me....eventually after I pulled out all of my hair waiting for my results on my HIV test (cuz i'm preggo...they had to test me) I called and low and behold "oh my, we must have forgotten. So terribly sorry." I believe that if something was seriously wrong they would have informed me from the get go. But because the pain has gone away, dont take that as everything being okay. Since it was a concern of yours from the beggining you should go to your Dr. Good luck!
