Just wanted to say hi to everyone. It has been quiet in here. I hope everyone is doing ok. I have been thinking about everyone here, hoping that everyone is doing well, those who just had surgeries & those who are struggling with pain, and or to find answers. I want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season & a less painful New Year.
It's been getting busy around here preparing for the holidays, so I am not sure I would be able to get on much & wanted to pass that along to everyone.
Hugs,
Breny

Happy Holiday's back to you Breny!
As I'm sure all of us do, I understand about being busy right now. I am so thankful that right now I am not in too much pain, so I can get things done.
Have a great day,
Kim

Happy Holidays Breny, Alex....and all
I think it's quiet because one person left and took his soapbox with him (along with all of his posts apparently. I can't find any of them)
For me, I think it's good timing that I'm at the recuperation point I am and the holidays are here. It has forced me to get out there and be busy (when I otherwise might have just hung around becoming a couch potato HA).
I'm still "growing into" my new self. I haven't been this pain free in years. I just don't know what to do first. I've made 3 different kinds of cookies, fudge, hard candy, win shuler bar cheese, pickles, church windows, rum balls, and will make candy cane bark tonight. My son said "have we always done all this?" HA. I said NO, I've haven't felt good enough to in YEARS!
This is great!

Hello All!
I too haven't been on here as much in the past couple of days. I got the okay on Monday 6 wk. post op appt. to walk alittle more and I got to start driving short distances. I am so sore today, thinking about just staying home, but it is so beautiful today, it's going to be about 80 degrees today. I don't know if it's best to rest all day or should I push through this! My rear end feels like all the muscles are being ripped out, tailbone is on fire, legs are really hurting. If I push through this maybe each day will get better, or if I rest all day, will I start all over tomorrow? God Bless All and the Happiest Holidays Ever!

Happy Holidays everyone. A couple people had surgery yesterday so that might be why it is so quiet. Hope everyone enjoys the holidays and can be pain free maybe for 1 day...

TxHunni--
Isn't fun to feel happy again! I had no idea how bad and for how long I was feeling until someone said to me at church that it was good to see me smile again.
Do you make the pretzels with the hershey kiss in the middle then an M&M on top? Those are my favorite. We made a big batch last night.

ummm nope I don't make those but they sound yummy. (trying to picture them, but I'm sure I'd like them since I like pretzles, kisses, and m&ms
JWhit... I vote for resting. One day won't make or break anything and pushing through that kind of pain won't solve your problem.

TxHunni,
Here's how you make them.
Ingredients:
holiday m&m's
hershey kisses -- I also use hershey hugs
round pretzels -- I believe the only ones are Seyferts beer pretzels.
In Indianapolis I can only find them at Kroger and Walmart
preheat oven to 300. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper, lay out the pretzels and put a hershey kiss in the middle of each pretzel. Bake for 3 minutes. As soon as you take them out of the oven place an m&m on top and push down to spread the kiss out to fill the pretzel ring. Let cool completely.
If the kiss does not push down very easily bake for another 30-45 seconds and then try. If you bake them for too long the chocolate becomes hard so be careful.
They are so yummy! The one's with hershey hugs are my favorite.

Hi all and Merry Christmas ~
I'm thankful that so many of us are feeling better and are able to enjoy some activities this Christmas season. I know we are all praying for those who are having surgery this week, and even more for those who are still waiting for their surgery or who are in painful recovery.
I've been doing so many things this past week that I wouldn't have thought I would be able to do even two weeks ago. I have been cooking up a storm (fudge... three varieties, prelines, cheese straws, Texas trash... a chex mix, hot chocolate mix, etc.). We have been shopping almost every day... and I find that my pain level is less when I am up walking around and thinking about other things. It's when I sit down that I realize my pain is still very much there.
Next step is getting house ready for 13 month old grandbaby coming for Christmas. If anyone has suggestions for how I can hold her safely, I would love to hear it. My doc said to not bend over to pick her up... I obviously knew that. My knees are too bad to get down on the floor and expect to get back up.
Again, Merry Christmas to all, Mary in Texas

I had neck and back surgery when my kids were little and I would sit on the couch and they would sit on my lap. It didn't hurt my back or neck. and all the goodies sound yummy. I wish I had the energy to make something good. but even if I did I wouldn't be able to eat them because all the meds take my appetite:(

It does my heart good to see so many people doing better this holiday season. I really like how Hunni refers to her new self. I think that is a great way to explain things. My roomate makes the pretzel, kiss, M&M things and I love them too. I am looking forward to the next batch. Hunni, I hope you are not refering to me and my soapbox. I try to keep it in storage as much as possible but sometimes, I can't fight the urge to drag it out.
Merry Christmas to everyone! Your caring and support are the best gifts I will get this year. ( Okay, maybe second behind the pain relief, but it is close ).

Oh AL!! Heaven's no, not you. I was referring to our book critic with the miracle cure!
All his posts seem to disappeared too. Very odd. (Or maybe I'm just not able to find them for some reason... nonetheless, they're gone.)
I wasn't referring to you at ALL. I, for one, look forward to your posts.

Hunni, I was just kidding. I had a pretty good idea of who you were refering to. I looked for his posts too and could not find them. The moderator or webmaster or whoever must have removed them. I think it was someone trying to sell that book. I am glad to see you look forward to my posts. I worry I talk too much. The feeling is mutual, by the way (that I look forward to your posts as well). I know our situations are different but I appreciate your great input. Have a wonderful, pain free weekend!
