Well, I am on day 6 now and I think the power of Zyban hit full force last night. I couldn't sleep much, and I woke up kind of dizzy and disoriented. and I'm SO TIRED all the time! I feel like I'm seeing things through a tunnel at all times. Does it get worse? When do the side effects go away? I just want to feel normal again. Thanks!

Hi--
When I quit, (15 months ago) I did use Wellbutrin, (same thing as Zyban). It did keep me awake at night. And one good side effect was it supressed my appetite, which I liked. I only took it for 3 weeks, because I really needed some sleep. But I was also using nicotene patches, so I was fine. You're probably feeling tired from the nicotene withdrawl, (it's a stimulant) and from not sleeping well. Hang in there, and congratulations on quitting smoking..that's great! :)

I can't speak for myself as I never smoked, but my husband tried that in '98 and he too was having a problem sleeping and he said he felt "weird" like really CREEPY and "scared"! I also had a friend who was on that and she would actually hallucinate! I think if you go to a smaller dose it should be better because that is what the doctor told my husband - but he just quit taking it altogether, and 6 months later he was smoking again. He is now trying the patch, doing pretty well with it - no side effects either.
