I get dizzy spells when I am lying down with my eyes closed sometimes. My head feels weird and fuzzy feeling at first then everything feels like it is spinning. If I lift my head up and move it will stop. Also I will get dizzy and fuzzy headed just sitting still like now staring and the computer screen while I am typing my whole head and sometimes my arms will start feeling heavy and I will start getting dizzy. Again if I move around and move my head it will usually stop. This is soooo scary. I can't afford to go to the doctor right now or I would, (no health insurance for another month :-( .)
Has anyone else ever experienced these symptoms or anything similar.
I also have tinnitus (ringing ears).
Please any advice or comments at all that may help me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Are these your only symptoms? I have experience with dizzy spells from a neck and back problem. I would even get dizzy laying in bed, or sitting back in a recliner, and the dizziness was positional, I would get dizzy from one positon, but not another. It was caused by my muscles in my neck and back and I went to physical therapy to have them worked on.

I have noticed that the dizzyness is only when I am doing certain things.
Lying on my side in bed or sitting in one position too long with my head straight I will start getting dizzy.
I remember a long time ago when this first started happening my former doctor said I could have a pinched nerve in my ear causing my tinnitus and dizzyness.
Because sometimes also I get a very weird sensation in my head and it feels like everything is going in slow motion. I haven't had one of these spells in over a year but they are unpredictable and I never know when I will have another one. When I do these spells only last for maybe 10 minutes max.

Hi...when you mentioned the weird sensation and slow motion type feelings...wow...I have been experiencing that for over 2 months now. Not everyday but often enough. Your dr. thought it was a pinced nerve in your ears??? With me I'm thinking more of a neck thing. I notice too when I get those sensations I feel like the floor has moved. (very hard to explain). To me, it reminds me of trying to walk on a boat while it is floating??? Also, when I get the sensations I feel I have to grab onto something to hold on. Did you ever feel like that when you had the weird sensations etc..? I have been thinking maybe it has something to do with my neck muscles/nerves somehow. I already went to the ear Dr. and everything came back fine. Also had ct scan of brain and bloodwork, all normal. I find too that it happens more if I am very tired. Any thoughts from anyone would be appreciated. Thanks

Pinkblazer, your symptoms are exactly what happened to me with the floor moving like being on a boat. I also had to grab onto something to keep from falling over. I have never heard of a pinched nerve in the ear, but do think it is in your neck and would get to physical therapy to have this worked on.
jenNbil, You really should try physical therapy also. It does sound like your problem is in your neck and upper back. The doctor could never find anything wrong with me either except I have always had neck and back problems. I had to diagnose myself in the end.
