Hi Kamden. I have read your replies to alot of people including some of my own posts. Could you please tell me exactly what your symptoms were? My symptoms are so hard to explain. I can be standing still and all of a sudden it feels as if the floor moved. I grab onto the nearest thing thinking I'm going to fall over. The feeling is like something hit a nerve??? and I get a weird feeling in my head. No pain, just that funny sensation. Maybe like when you hit your funny bone in your elbow, but without the pain.(best way I can describe it)It only last a second or two. After it happens I get panicy. The very first one was when I was sitting on a stool at my job and I had to bend over to get something from underneath the counter....when I sat back up, I had that sensation.it's not a lightheaded feeling either. ALSO...I have this thing when I am in bed...if my neck is in a certain position, I hear a sound, like the blood flowing through my veins...not in my ears, I hear it in my head...it feels like the blood flow is being restricted and my head starts to hurt alittle. I have to change positions in order for it to flow properly. It happened several times last night. Sometimes it doesn't happen at all. I have also noticed when I am just sitting, my shoulders are tensed up. I notice this alot and have to relax them. Sometimes when I have been sitting for a period of time, I can hardly move my head to either side. VERY tensed! What I am asking I guess, is what EXACTLY were your symptoms? Please respond. I have asked my family and friends about my weird happenings and they have never experienced them. I've had a CT scan, been to ear Dr., family doctor. My family D.r feels its just stress. DUH...yes I have stress because I can't figure out what is wrong. He prescibed xanax, a 10 day supply. That was over 2 months ago, I still have 14 pills left. BUT...I have noticed IF I do take one, I don't have that weird sensation. If this is muscle related, why wouldn't I have them when taking a xanax? Sorry this is sooo long but I am so desperate for an answer. I don't know where to turn. Thanks Kamden for any info. (please describe your symptoms) http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Pinkblazer, first find out what ingredients are in the xanax. If there is any relaxant in them, this can explain why you don't have all the symptoms when you take them. Anything for stress may also be relaxing the muscles temporarily. I also was put on meds. when I had symptoms, only for them to come back full force when I went off them, because they were for inflamation. Here is a list of my symptoms. I had horrible dizzy spells, sometimes just while laying back in the recliner, sometimes while cooking a meal, and I had to grab onto the counter to keep from falling over, it felt like the floor moved under me, I was light headed at times, couldn't concentrate or remember things, and I almost always had a pressure sensation in my head, not really pain, although sometimes I would get headaches. I had a feeling of fullness in my ears at times, noises would bother me, that hadn't before. I cannot remember all my symptoms, because this was quite awhile ago. From what you have told me about your neck, you need to get to therapy and get this taken care of. For your neck to be so bad that you cannot move it, tells me it is most likely the cause of your symptoms. I would suggest you have this checked out right away, because these symptoms do not go away on their own, and your muscles won't get better on their own either. Your doctor can refer you to PT, I just asked mine. The problem with taking meds. for this is that you would have to live on them, but PT takes care of the cause of the problem, not the end result, which is the symptoms. A back doctor would be able to find these areas on you, ortho., neuro., or therapist, and let you know right away if this is the cause of your symptoms. It does sound like it is though, so please have it checked out right away so you can start getting better. Let me know what you find out and good luck. I know how miserable it is to feel this way.

Thank you for answering. Yes, your symptoms do sound alot like mine. I have an appointment tomorrow with my family Dr. I am going to ask him about referring me to PT. At this point I am willing to try just about anything. These sensations have ruined my summer and now with holidays coming up I don't want to be like this. After reading your reply I should have added, I have problems with certain sounds/noises also. A spoon tapping on a glass, certain voices etc.. sort of makes my head feel funny. They never did before though. I also have an unbalanced feeling once in awhile, like I'm trying to walk while standing on a boat.(hard to explain) And right now while typing this...my shoulders and upper back muscles are getting very tight. I sure hope you are right about it being tensed muscles pressing on nerves etc.. Sounds logical to me. Thanks again Kamden.

Hi again Kamden. I just got back from my Dr. appt. I asked him about PT, he told me maybe I should try a chiropractor first. I was really shocked to hear him say that, as most doc's don't believe in them. So I am going to set up an appt. and see what happens. I'll keep you posted.

Pinkblazer, I am shocked that your doctor recommended the chiro. also. I went to them for 19 years, and did not get near the relief I did at physical therapy, or get it as quickly. I had to keep going back and back and back, because they never touched my muscles, just adjusted my vertebrae, and i kept going right back to the condition I was in before I went in, within a short time. Once I was referred to PT for the first time, I was shocked at how my symptoms improved so quickly and I just kept getting better, where with the chiro. it was agonizingly slow. I would still recommend PT, and this is from somebody with 25 years of back and neck problems. Also, just so you know, I had a few horrible dizzy spells right after leaving the chiro., and that is what I was in there for, yet none after leaving PT. Hopefully your chiro. can combine deep muscle massage with the treatments, if he does not, please check out the PT instead. Again, good luck and keep me posted!
