Hi-
About three months ago I started having weird zaps and a bit of tingling in my arms, legs, feet, and hands. About a month ago, I noticed clothing (except flannel and soft cotton) would make my skin feel scratchy, like my hair follicles are irritated. NO rash of any kind. Went to dr. and she said this is not typical for a neuro problem It's all over my body..my lips even burn under the skin. All labs, including b12, thyroid, liver, cbc, and chems normal. No autoimmune disease. She said this is most likely due to depression/stress/anxiety. Am being treated with zoloft 12.5 and xanax .25 for two weeks now. No relief yet. Am perimenopausal. Any one else have this or something similar? What causes it? Any creams for skin? Am taking b complex and added b12 just in case. Thanks. cbj

Did you have any sort of injury, or were you taking any medications before these symptoms started? Do you feel stressed?

No injury but I have been under stress. The only weird thing that happened injury wise was I got stung by about 30 mosquitos on my legs in Jamaica in May. I never had such terrible burning from them it felt my legs were on fire. They didn't feel like regular bites. Of course, those cleared up with neosporin and cortisone cream. Haven't told the doctor about that 'cause she probably want to LOL. Maybe I have some kind of virus?

My symptoms are somewhat similar. I strained my neck and was prescribed Skelaxin. My doctor increased my dosage to 2 per meal. I had a hallucinatory-seizure reaction to it that lasted a long time. Ever since then, I have had tingling and prickling sensations all over my body, widespread muscle twitching, stiff body, and other abnormal sensations. My neck MRI and EMG results are normal. I will have a brain MRI this Thursday. My family thinks I am just stressed too. I scared that I developed permanent brain damage. I am trying not to worry though...but it is hard not to.

I doubt that you contrated a disease.Keep me updated on your progress.

I think I will seriously try some relaxation techniques and see whether they help or not.

Take care and try to relax,
Jesanina
