Question...

Years ago when I started getting acne, I went to see a dermatologist. And she gave me a blood test, and turns out I had a hormone imbalance, WAY too much progesterone. So she gave me some pills, then that was that. Is it possible that the imbalance could come back? Should I be getting tested every so often? I didn't really have any symptoms before, I just found out by accident. I mean I always have acne so I don't really know. Should I request a blood test from the doc? I've been getting more acne than usual and my chest is breaking out, and I never had this before!!! Ahh its so depressing, I feel so UGLY, what should I do???

I have a very similar (or maybe even the same problem) with my hormone levels (too much progesterone). Do you also have very irregular periods? Sometimes I go more than 12 months between periods. I did have to have fertility drugs to become pregnant and have been on the pill quite often to help regulate my periods and control my other symtoms. I have found also that since I started drinking 32-48 oz. of water per day my symptoms, especially the acne and frequency of periods, has dramatically improved. Its worth a try because it can't hurt and is actually very good for your body in so many ways. Try it before going to the doctor and see what happens, though you will still probably want to be tested again.

nope my periods are always regular. I was getting some bleeding inbetween periods but I think that was my cyst I had. But now I got that big one removed so if I still get bleeding maybe I will get my hormones checked or something. I really refuse to go on birthcontrol but I do drink TONS of water!

Did you get any other symptoms?

I think its a good idea to stay on top of it and have them checked every once in a while if you have a history of an imbalance. I've got some serious hormone imbalances and really no symptoms either except acne.
