Hello,
My mother is going to have a procedure done on January 7th which requires a shunt put in her head to help release the fluid around her brain. They are going to drill a hole in her head and then put a tube through all the way down to her intestines. There will be also an incision in the abdomen to make sure the tube goes to the right place. She had a variety of tests to diagnos fluid around her brain. This has caused her to walk extremely slow and loss of bladder control. My mom is only 71 years old and seems much older because of this. Has anyone had a procedure like this that can tell me more including what to expect afterwards? The doctors have informed us family members, but still dont know if we are given the whole truth.
Thanks for your help.
