I have had these symptoms since 1992 when I had a traumatic incident. I also suffer with anxiety and agoraphobia, also emetophobia (fear of vomiting). I get this feeling an inch below my breastbone when I get anxious, eat salad dressing, too much caffeine of chocolate, also meat gravies and stress. The only way I can describe this feeling is like a brick just hanging in a net, weird I know. It doesnt hurt, just this heavy, uncomfortable feeling that has at times lasted a couple days. I thought an ulcer or gerd. After awhile, I can litterally hear gurgling, and it's like breaking up. Then I feel fine. Anyone ever had this?

I started getting this about 2 years ago. At the same time I started having perimenopausal symptoms (just turned 42). When I got my hormones straightened out, it seemed to go away. Now I am having hormone issues again and this stomach thing is back.
It feels like something is pushing up under my breastbone, and the whole area is sore. Not sure if it is related to perimenopause or a whole other issue.
I think I am going to give up caffeine and see if that helps.
