I have been having tension headaches since june 2001 and often have a heavy feeling head. I get insomnia at times and visited a family doctor and he prescribed relaxants but my prob came back once i get off the medicine so i stopped seeing him. i went to see chiropractors last yr but the condition did not improve. They say it's due to poor blood circulation. Recently after i had some late nights cramming projects and examinations for school, my symtoms changed. The heaviness went away but it changed into that of numbness in my head and face and i find it hard to smile. When this happened i went to see the chiropractor again and he discovered that my blood pressure dropped a lot..... i have low blood pressure now and very poor blood circulation. This is affecting my life greatly- i can't concentrate and always feel tired. Even though i exercise and eat properly i still feel terrible. I tried acupunture and take many supplements the chiropractor suggested but to no avail. Can anyone help me please.... life is hard to carry on..... thank you so much.....

Syling, these are major symptoms of thyroid and adrenal disorders. I have hypothyrodism, the low blood pressure, cold all the time, tiredness, trouble concentrating, are major symptoms. Also, when your blood pressure drops like this, it is a major sign of adrenal dysfunction, some call it addisons disease. You need to go to the doc and specifically ask to have your thyroid levels checked, your iron, and ask to be checked for adrenal dysfunction. I have heard that it can be hard for docs to diagnose addisons, but when you have some of the major symptoms, you need to ask and start treatment right away. Also, go to the thyroid forum, they can tell you more about adrenal dysfunction. But your regular doc can perform these tests, the thyroid is by a blood test, the adrenal is different, please get this done though. It is very hard to live like this if undiagnosed, as you know.

Hi just to update....... i went to my chiropractor again last week and he used a technique called Gua Sha(a form of scraping on certain parts of the body) on my neck and back. it helped tremendously and relieved my numbness greatly. i believe this technique had helped my blood to circulate to my head more freely. And hey thanks for all of you who had given me advice...... I just hope it will get better.... http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
