I'm 31 years old and I've been having trembling in the back of my head every time I try to go to sleep at night for over a month. It is accompanied by a feeling that's hard to describe, but it's dizziness, a feeling of passing out, and weakness in the head, very uncomfortable. It only happens at night when I'm about to sleep, but the trembling and feeling keeps me up throughout the night until the morning. The trembling starts in my head, but then sometimes goes down to my face and arms. It's really driving me nuts. I went to a sleep specialist, but he's not sure what it could be, and my primary care physician has been only so-so in helping. Please, anyone who's had trembling at night or similar experiences in the head, I would desperately appreciate your help.

Hi,
I get that same feeling, I think. To me it feels like my brain is shaking back in forth inside my head. My head doesn't shake visibly from the outside it's an inside feeling. Is this what you feel? I get it mostly across the lower back of my head right where your skull and neck meet. Once in a great while I get it in my temples like it shakes back and forth from temple to temple but the majority of the time it's on the lower part of the back of my head. I get it laying down and sitting up. I also get minor ear pain, ear fullness, and short lasting pain either in my lower right back of my head, top of my head or temples with it. Someone mentioned I might be tense and not know it but I dunno. I had a CAT scan done last week because my family doc. didn't know what was causing the dizziness. Truthfully I don't have much faith in her. I'm going to another doc. tomorrow who will have my CAT results faxed to go over them with me. I'll let you know what's up. Mabe I can shed some light on why we get this after talking to the doc. Take care!
