last 7 or 8 weeks now and counting! i wake up at the same time every night, its between 2 am and 4 am!
i have no idea why. As far as i know im not under any stress, and its the holidays so im relaxed. i have had a habit of sleeping during the day to counter balance what i have lost during the night, but even if i have a day where i havent slept during the day, i still cant sleep
this is driving me crazy, I dont smoke, im female, healthy.. (i think lol), and no problems relating to alcohol.
Ive tried sleeping tablets, (nytol) and once reading before bedtime, but i still wake up. i really need help :o

melatonin is said to regularise your sleep cycle, but it didnt help me
are you using a CPAP machine?

Nytol is an antihistamine. If you are taking too much or other cold/allergy medications, you will have restless sleep.

well i think i exagerated maybe a little. my problem is i find it hard getting to sleep in the first place and then i tend to wake up between 2 to 4 oclock in the morning for no apparent reason for an hour or so and have trouble sleeping after that
im just worried that ive not slept a whole night straight without waking up at least once for the last 2 months, bizarre no??

Hi there--I just woke up 1:55AM--the usual 2-3 times per nite! I'm 57, female, and I have a CPAP for NONobstructive apnea. I've been waking shivering like the dickens, and numb left arm, breathing really slowly. I had the usual tests last week--ekg, chest xray, 24-hour holter monitor, but I am also tapering off zoloft (panic disorder) and really spacey. During the day I get really itchy and I think a lot of the shivering is sinus/allergy--we have horrible cedar pollen this time of year. Anyway, I've had non-respiratory wakenings for 9 years, and some are terror-like. I take 1/2 of a non-dye benadryl at bedtime but I can't take anything that depresses my breathing, which pretty much rules out most sleep aids and sedatives. Any suggestions welcome, Trucky
