I went to the salon today and get blonde highlights and base color. I have naturally dark brown hair. Well, when all was said and done, my base color is now orange. It was suppossed to be blonde, but it is as orange as a carrot and so ugly. What can I do at this point? And why can't they just bleach my roots so that they turn blonde instead of orange?

You should have told the stylist you dont like it so she could try to fix it right away. You should call the salon and they will usually let you get it fixed for free. I get highlights all the time, and when I moved, my new hairdresser had me sign a form saying I liked the color she did, she wanted to make it clear that if I didnt like it, she wanted to fix it right away. Usually the color turns out orange and brassy because the color was not left on long enough. I have very dark hair, and a couple of times I "cheated" and went to a different stylist and ended up orange-y. It was always because the solution was not left on for very long. My regular hairdresser would take it out next time i was due for a touch-up. You basically have to lighten it more. Call the salon!!!!!

I'm afraid to let that lady touch me again... she really sucks. She also left in in for like 45 minutes... isnt that enough time? I feel like maybe someone should just bleach it cause whenever they put color it turns out ugly. Is bleach THAT terrible for your hair?
