I'm 27, healthy smoker(I know). I'm gonna start in the beginning of when I started to notice this problem.

About a 6 months ago whenever I'd sneeze, I would get these pains throughout the joints from my shoulders down to my finger tips, every joint. They are dull but can get intense. I figured it was something like arthritis. What is making me very concerned is what's happening now. Four days ago I came down with a flu-like illness. Lastnight before I went to bed, I started to sneeze a bit and then I started to get serious pain. The pain was located between my shoulder blades and the back of my neck. It was quite intense and very sharp and of course followed by my normal dull pains throughout my arms. Eventually I got to bed. Today, just a couple hours ago, I had coughed. This was very bad, not the coughing, but the pain that followed. I suffered the previous pains I described above, but this time it was also in my shoulder blades, shoulders and coller bones and was 100 times more intense. I'm pretty tolerant when it comes to pain, but when this happened I instantly went into tears. The pain wasn't just in the joints, it felt as if every bone in that region was breaking apart.

Please feel free to ask any questions about habits and lifestyle, I'm very open and honest when it comes to my health. Thank you for your time.

Oh yeah, I apologize about the spelling errors.

It sounds very much like you may have some sort of nerve problem in the c spine area such as herniation of a disc or bone spurs or something that hits a nerve every time you sneeze.i once had my lower back go completely out when i sneezed, something had impinged my sciatic nerve when i sneezed. There is alot of sudden force created in the body when we sneeze > have since found out that there are alot of people who have sneezed and it caused them major spinal problems afterwards. The force of the sneeze caused nerve compression. The areas that you described that are being affected do really appear to be coming from the c spine area.i think you need to see your doc for some x rays on the c spine and go from there. If nothing shows on the x rays, the next step would be a CT or MRI to get a more inside look in there. These would most likely show if there was any sort of nrve compression or compromise going on which can be treated in different ways.but you need to get in to see your primary doc to get the ball rolling.Good luck, marcia

I have had that idea as well. Sometimes without sneezing I get these sharp pains on the back of my neck about even to my shoulders. I get it when my head is fixed staring at one spot (like a pc monitor) Could bone spurs be passed down in families, I ask because I know my father has/had one. Another suspicion I have is fibromyalgia. I was reading through some of the threads on this site and one caught my eye. So I did a search on it and this description for fibromyalgia was like reading my zodiac sign description. I mean everything about it was exactly what I go through (except numbness of hands and feet)

Thanks alot Marcia :) I appreciate your input. After the holidays I'm gonna talk to someone about. I'm the type of person that needs to know everything about anything and be prepared (especially when it's about my wellness)

If anyone else has any other suggestions I'd be more than happy to learn more.
