Hi all

Hope you're all having a painless Merry Christmas.

Just one quick question, does anyone suffer with painful red gums and tender jaw muscle with swollen gland due to TMJ with clenching. Not too sure if its gum disease, but I was only at the dentist a couple of days ago, surely they would of noticed something as they did numerous xrays.

Do you wear a splint? I asked my doc about wearing a splint 24/7, long term and what damage does it do to your teeth and gums. He said over time, the teeth can actually get pushed down into the gums. Maybe that is what is going on.
I would not count on a dentist noticing anything you don't point out as a problem.

Thanks for your reply. No I don't wear a splint yet, waiting for one to be made, receive it 6th January. Can't wait.

Whilst I am here, does anyone get like a water feeling behind eye (say when you pull eyelid gently, you can feels watery). Plus feeling like its about to swell when your jaw is playing up, but it doesn't.
