It's not that they have anything that I know of. I just know that alot of things can lie dormant and have no signs or symptoms and I was wondering if it were possible to actually have sex with a person who has an STD and not get it.

It is possible...a slim possibility i'd say...but anything is possible now a days. Anyhow, its always best of course to practice safe sex.

I have read on these boards cases of one person having an STD and then having their partner get tested, and they didn't have it. So I'm not sure. But, sometimes you can contract an STD and not show any symptoms but still be a carrier and pass it on to other people.

If you wear a condom you have a better chance of not getting an STD than if you didn't wear anything. If you don't use any protection than I'd say you'd get the STD from your partner.
Even if you do use a condom some STDs can be contracted. Crabs is one that can be received without intercourse and genital herpes can be too if it's touched.
