im 17 years old and when i was 15 i started making myself throw up, but it was only when i ate a big meal and felt to full. Ive been doing that for 2 years now, but lately its got out of hand. i throw up every day ,sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. whenever i eat , even if its something small ,i feel sick to my stomach so i go and throw it up. I dont binge or eat big amounts of food. I really want to get help because its starting to affect me and my life. Im paler than usual and always look sick, my throat is always sore, ive been having terrible nightmares and i feel so depressed. I dont think i can tell my parents but i really do want to get help. please someone help me or give me advice. thank you

0421, I know that it might be difficult to tell your parents but I've seen alot of movies and witnessed real life stories of what can occur from this problem, you need to get physical help soon, the only help you can get from this site is mental help from bunch of smart and intelligent people that can give you great advice. So pleeaasse- Tell someone that can get you help soon..GOOD LUCK

ang, I know exactly how you feel. I'm 15 years old and i used to do the exact same thing. whenever i ate a big meal, i always felt obligated to go throw it up soon afterwards, my throat was always sore, and that started to scare me. My good friend told me a lot of info about what i was really doing to myself by throwing up all the time, like the fact that i could ruin my voice (i love singing) so i decided to stop... I still do it every once in awhile but rarely anymore...
So instead of throwing up, i've moved onto not eating... *sigh*
I suggest that you tell your parents. i know you say you don't think you can tell them, but if they love you (which im sure they do) then they will try and get you help. You shouldn't have to try and figure out what to do all on your own. Good luck.
