My name is Kevin. Have alot of pain because of Bruxism-teeth grinding. Apparently my mandible has pused up and in and is grinding on the edge of my meniscus. There are alot of nerve endings here. Also, ********** nerve seems to be implicated. Have seen many doctors. No clear direction. Taking klonopin for pain (don't really want to but it helps). Open to any ideas, thoughts, directions. thanks, Kevin

Elavil can sometimes help with nightiime bruxing. As well, it helps with the nerve pain.
Also, an NTI might help.

all i know is the ony way to cure it permanently is to stop grinding, and most surgical procedures dont work (im not saying that off the cuff, ive done research) your best bet is try a biofeedback device and or a moutgurad untli you stop grininding, and some mild pain relievers until you do the biofeedback has the best results-mouthguards may protect your teeth but sometimes they can make your teeth move,a nd it will not stop you from clenching and grinding anyways (though appparently it does help for a few weeks).i clench and grind unconsiosly all the time for the past four years as a result of anxiety and stress and have since experience more dental problems then i ever had growing , getting abnormal cavities at the gum line because my gums have receded because of this . not to mention a constant feeling of pressure and imbalance, which contributes to wicked headaches and hangovers of such proportions that I refuse to drink anymore.
