View Full Version : LIGHTHEAD/feel faint

HI there
I was wondering if anyone has experienced or knows anything about what feeling faint or lightheaded can indicate. Last year I had fainted at a club, I had about 2 drinks and nothing was spiked.(something which I thought had happened) and I certainly do not use drugs so that wasn't it either. I went to see a doctor and had some tests done and they said everything was fine. This past summer I had a similar spell but didnt get to the point of passing out. I turned white(as my friends put it) started sweating, feeling naseous and had a ringing in my ears. These symptoms were all similar to the time I had passed out in the club but this time I tried to do something about it before I would pass out. I sat down for awhile and felt better after about 10 minutes. However lately I have been feeling like I am going to faint or pass out more often. There was another posting on this site where someone felt disoriented almost like they were out of their body-
I was just wondering if anyone knew if this was related to blood pressure (which is 120/80 for me), sugar(which has never posed a problem) or something else.
Any comments are welcome
thanks!

I don't know if you are having other symptoms at this point - but one thing to consider is tick borne illness. Lyme, Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis, Bartonella, and Mycoplasm can cause dizziness and feelings like you are going to pass out. I was having symptoms that would come and go for a couple years and then this Spring I got more and more symptoms that I could no longer ignore. I don't remember a bite and I never had a rash but have been diagnosed with lyme, babesia, and ehrlichia.

Please check out the lyme disease thread and if you suspect this could be an issue see a LLMD (lyme literate M.D.) - Ticker who is an unofficial moderator of the lyme board here can help you find one in your area.

Good luck and I hope you get some answers soon.

Hypoglycemia may also be a possibility.

I was having similar spells where I would nearly pass out. Everything I was seeing would start getting fuzzy and far away and I could feel myself about to pass out. Luckily I never did pass out, but it turned out to be blood pressure related. I think my BP would rise and fall very rapidly. I went on BP medicine and no more spells.

Sorry I have been lax with getting back on this board. Thanks for the advice- it hasnt happened in awhile but I still feel like that once in awhile-
how did they find out it was BP related?
sometimes i think its related to my eating habits as well and agree with you barrie when I smoke or have coffee i tend to feel like that - how are you feeling barrie?
