Just wanted to know since you seem quite knowledgable!! :)

I posted a few days ago about my front tooth having a dull ache. The dull ache has just about gone away, but I am wondering if I should still make an appointment with my dentist when they get back from their holiday break, even if the ache is totally gone by then.
My dentist won't be back till the 3rd of Jan.
I have been swishing with warm salt water and that seems to have helped. I don't have the bruising feeling anymore that I had for two days when I rubbed my tongue on the bottom of my left front tooth. I don't know if I had that feeling from digging around my gums.... I did that with a toothpick incase there was something like a popcron husk caught there.... which may have caused this ache in the first place. I don't have any pain at all when I bite down.. and my tooth does not hurt or feel any different then my other front tooth when I bang on it with my finger. I don't have any sensitivity to heat, and even the slight sensitivy to cold I have experienced in the past week has subsided. So what do you suggest???
Thanks!!

Writing as a peer would be like suggesting you talk to a dentist or doctor about this or that etc. (but not mentioning you are a doctor or dentist or some other health profession). Hmm....I was once banned from this board because I didn't read upon the rules that I was not suppose to list my profession. So I won't do that. But to answer your question, if you still have concern it will be worth a piece of mind to get it checked out. The dull ache may be the nerve of the tooth acting up for some reason. Have you traumatized the tooth at all by hitting or biting on something hard? It's a good sign if the symptoms have subsided. I would prob wait until symptoms appear again before seeing your dentist because whatever is going on with the tooth may not even show up on the x-rays at this point. So keep an eye on it and if it starts to bother you then make an appt asap. After all it's your front tooth!

Thanks Toothfairy!! :) I will take your advice and wait to see if that tooth acts up again.. coz you are right, it is my FRONT tooth!! :)
I did bite down on something hard a few mos ago and had to have my bonding filed down because it chipped, but I Had no sensitiviy or any problems until a week ago, BUT I will watch it and see if it starts to ache again, because for now it has subsided, and isn't bothersome at all.
Thanks again.. and I am definetly going to assume that you are in the dental field...LOL... :)
