View Full Version : aneurysm warning leak?

Hi

I'm 16 y/o.

Last night, I had one of the worst headaches I've ever felt, and I rarely get headaches. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give it a 7 or 8. It started around 11 and very quickly got worse. The pain was like somebody had smashed the side of my head in with a brick. I also felt dizzy and nauseous, and felt like I was going to vomit. I took an Advil, and after about half an hour, the pain suddenly cleared. The nausea slowly faded. By that time it was around 12:50. I stayed up until about 3 out of fear that it would happen again, or that if it was an aneurysm, it would burst. Eventually, I drifted to sleep.

When I woke up this morning, I did not have a headache. Could this have been a warning "sentinel" headache that sometimes happens before an aneurysm ruptures? What should I do? I'm still worried.

Thanks

I rarely get headaches either, but had a doozey a few months back. I couldn't get out of bed it hurt so bad.
You might have had your first migraine. Did light make it hurt worse? Was laying down the only relief you had?
The type of headache you are describing sounds like a migraine. My mother in law gets them on a regular basis and they do the same thing to her.
You might want to make an appt with your doctor to be sure.
