Hi all. I'm new to this community and had a few questions for you more experienced users. I am 30 years old, with Type I diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol (the triple combo!). I started taking Diovan and Lipitor (10mg) about two months ago. After starting with the Lipitor, I noticed a major increase in the amount of hair shedding. In addition to all my other diseases, I also suffer from Alopecia Areata, so the additional shedding scares me! My dermatologist is under the impression that Lipitor is a known hairloss drug, but my endocrinologist disagrees.
Anyone have any thoughts on this matter?? If I can't take Lipitor, are there any other hair-friendly high cholesterol medications??
Thanks so much!
