I had a tooth pulled a few days ago. Before I had the tooth pulled the whole side of my face was aching. Especially along one nerve line that ran along my cheek to a point next to my eye and in my forehead. I didn't have any pain after surgery and the next day. Gradually that nerve is beginning to ache.........it feels seering. Can anyone tell me whats going on? I was hoping to be out of pain totally after the tooth was pulled. I've been dealing with this pain for 2 weeks.

You may want to go back to a dentist. After having a root canal done (I've had a few, experienced), the initial pain had gone away but a day or so after, I started feeling pain again. An infection had managed to start up. My dentist opened my temporary filling back up, rinsed the puss/infection (the reason for my pain and pressure) away, and subscribed some antibiotics. Usually the rules with oral surgery talk about no suction- don't use straws or smoke cigarettes, I had avoided both of these, but still got infected. Good luck!

Hi girlnina, I did call the office..and I did see a dentist. Because we are going into the New Years weekend, the Dr. prescribed an antibiotic for me. I was sitting in a little office relaxing for awhile and the pain went away......I wondered if it was stress related. If the pain persists tomarrow I will take the antibiotic......
Thanks for your post.
Happy New year
