This misery cocktail has me really frustrated! I have been taking 30mg Remeron pills for depression for the past three years with no problems. Five weeks ago, I noticed a high frequency sound in my head. At the same time I began feeling weak and slightly dizzy at times. I can get through the day ok but it takes an effort. I went to a Ear,Nose,Throat doctor and he tested me with no signs of any trouble.
Has anybody been through these type of symptoms and, if so, what was the cause and treatment?
Thanks!

Hi, believe it or not, depression, the high-pitched tone, weakness and dizziness can be caused by nutrient deficiencies caused by a food intolerance. And there are frequently no stomach problems to help with diagnosing it. To be more exact, the problem I'm referring to is a nutrient malabsorption. You can be eating a plentiful diet and taking vitamins galore and still have nutrient deficiency because the body can't absorb the nutrients.
I'm not saying this IS the cause of your problems only that these symptoms CAN be caused by a nutrient deficiency.
The primary culprit for nutrient malabsorption is gluten intolerance. There is no test for gluten intolerance, you just have to stop eating grains for a couple of months and see if you feel better. There are also intolerances for dairy, wheat, yeast, and eggs among many others to rule out.
Don't know if it will help, but it's worth doing some research into this. Good luck with it.
