I had been using a bit too much alcohol and smoking too much as well. On a long drive home last week I was smoking alot to stay awake. By the time I reached my destination I had developed a severe headache near the back of my head. This has persisted here and there over the last eight days or so, but the headache has never been as severe as the first one. I am not drinking now and am barely smoking. The headaches are very minor now but I can still notice a sensitivity when I wake up and a little during the day. Using the web to research I noticed cluster headaches could arise from over consumption of said chemicals, however I never had symptoms related to my eyes really. I occasionaly feel a mild numbness on my left cheek, whereas the headaches occur on the right side of the back of my head. As I mentioned before, it seems to be getting better, but I have an expecting wife and I want to make sure I don't have any symptoms of something life-threatening. Please respond..thank you

Dear Benderock, I don't think you have cluster headaches, as they are very severe and usually the eye are , and one sided. also, there is alot of tearing, and eye pain. Sounds to me more like migrain, or even tension heeadace, being in the back of your head. You may want to mention this to your gp, but don't think you have to much to worry about. I hope eveything works out, as you have a alot to look forward to.Babies are a real blessing! Take care,SusieQ
