Hi Im new on here and I have a question. I recently started BC pills and stopped after 3 days due to the side effects. Well that was 3 and a half weeks ago, and since Mon night Ive had nausea and dizziness in the morning and afternoons. Sometimes it comes in waves through the day. I am one day late, and Im having light cramping some abdominal pain. But I dont have tender breast like I get before I start my period. Any ideas of what it is? I dont really feel pregnant, but I dont feel like Im sick with a bug either.

It's very likely that the pills are causing you to feel nauseated and not well. This is a very common side effect of first-time pill users. Your physician should have explained this to you, and also explained that you just shouldn't stop taking the pill when illness occurs.
As for the illness now, I highly doubt that the pills from 3 weeks ago are still causing the symptoms. When did you have sex? It's likely that you are pregnant, considering the birth control wouldn't have had time to become effective.
Take a pregnancy test. If it's negative, you're probably just sick. Illness can cause late periods, too. But you need to take a pregnancy test, first.

I also experienced this when I first started taking pills, it is very normal. Your body needs to adjust to the hormones in the pill. This often takes 3 months for your body to adjust. If after the 3 months you are still having side effects then you could switch pills. It is important to stay with the pill because the side effects most likely will go away. If you take the pill at night before bed time that usually helps. You could also take it with crackers. As for your period, since it is your first pack...you aren't really sure on what day of the inactive week your period will start. Mine usually starts on the third or fourth sugar pill. Also, did you use a back up method during this first month of pills? It is very important to use some other form of birth control until you finish your first pack due to pregnancy. Take care!

Did you have unprotected sex during the month you stopped taking the pill? If you did, then you should take a pregnancy test, because it's very likely that you could be pregnant. If not, it could be a stomach bug. I also get waves of nausea, and even fatigue, from allergies (I've been dealing with this over the past few weeks).

Hey everyone thanks for the replies. I went to the hospital due to being so sick. They did a urine test and it came back neg. He said I have an extremely bad kidney infection. Other than that he couldnt tell me anything else was wrong. I asked for a blood test and they wouldnt take one, saying there had to be outwards signs of illness?! Anyways- Im not preg! Hope everyone is well.
