I have been diagnosed with the non-cancerous brain tumor, acoustic neuroma. I have had the gamma knife radiation within the last 3 months. Has anyone else gone through this procedure? This occurs mostly in women ages 40 to 69. Women are 3x as likely then men. The symptoms are ringing in the ears, plugged up ears, tiredness, headaches, pain in the jaw and neck regions, loss of balance and hearing loss. The MRI is the best procedure to detect this tumor but it did show up on the cat scan. The reason I had the cat scan done in April 2003 was the pressure headaches I was experiencing. I had the gamma knife radiation in June instead of a 12 hour plus surgery .
