My MRI showed a small cyst near the aquaduct of sylvia. Neurologist does not think it would be related to my right side facial pressure/numbness which is constant - at first they thought migraines but not so sure.
Anyone know about this region of the brain and have any similar experiences?

Hi,
I had a colloid cyst of the third ventricle removed Nov. 2000. The first MD that diagnosed the cyst told me not to worry about it. 3 years later, I was having continued horrible headaches that tylenol would only bring to an ease. One morning I awoke with "the Mother of all headaches". I went into my bathroom, turned on the light and could not see from my left eye. The cyst was resting on the optic nerve. 3 days later, I had emergency surgery to remove the cyst.
From all the material I have researched and read I know our brains cannot accomodate extra growth because of the closed encapsulating skull.
Please continue to talk to your neurologist about this matter, and if necessary, see another MD.
I wish you the best of luck, Dodi

Please keep searching for help. These cysts can be very serious. My daughter had a 2.1 pineal cyst, which was partially blocking her spinal fluid. This caused her severe suffering and pain. She suffered for over 4 years with no medical help.
Keep changing doctors if you need to. Please do not give up. Is this cyst on the pineal gland or near the pineal gland?
Please let me know.
If so, these can cause many, many severe symptoms.
God bless you always,
Cheryl
