In late June, after a CatScan and MRI, I was diagnosed with a Half a centimeter cyst in my brain, in my nervous system. I have been getting really intense pressure in my head, and pains in different places in my head, Today I was getting a bad pain in my right temple, but a little more to the right of it, and when I touched it, it hurt, almost lieka tender spot, And i noticed the veins that run along my temple are very noticeable to feel, and feel larger than usual, This has been going on for months now, but has gotten much worse very recently... Has anyone had anything like this? I also have alot of vision problems.. Anyone know what this could be? Im STILL waiting to hear from my neurologist.. please help me!!!!

I wasn't sure abou the size of my cyst, So I went and asked my doctor again, and its a 1.5 centimeter Choroidal Fissure Cyst.. I cant seem to find any information on this type of cyst... http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif

Go to Google & search Choroidal Cyst & also Colloid
Cyst. Should get a few hits. Don't know much but do
know that location is key to treatment. Get a printed
radiologists copy that your Dr. has at ofc. Tell them
you're starting a health-file for future use. See what
it says & go from that. This is your head, not his!
Did he even offer meds for your pain? Get pushy but in
a nice way.

Nope, I have not yet been offered any medicine beleive it or not, And I'm concerned because i have severe head pressure and migraines and im scared of spinal fluid blockage or some type of blockage. But my neurologist hasn't said much yet? Im going to push for some other tests, but i'm not sure what tests I shoudl have. I am on Trileptal because in june i had a really bad fainting spell and my neurologist thought it was a seizure, But i also have chronic fatigue syndrome, and fainting is a part of that. So im not sure, Its hard to know waht symptoms are caused by what. :-/ And im only 16 years old, so its really hard to take in all this stuff.. Thanks for your help!

Mine is a arachnoid cyst but i just thought i would share, I am 25 and have had constant head-aches since i was 16 or 17 years old, constantly tired and have blacked out for no reason that i can find 3 times. I think it is all due to the cyst but i have yet to have the dr agree. other then the cyst i find my self completely healthy so who knows. good luck finding information. best wishes.

Hi staind00, Why are you carrying this concern alone?
At 16 is there a parent around to answer ?'s or call MD
for info. If it's in a ventrical, yes it may be block-
ing CSF & causing headaches. Do you have Ins? Is that
possible reason for treatment delay? There are many
meds to help your pain but seems like somethings miss-
ing here. Also, fainting is not common w/ Chronic
Fatigue. Cyst could be causing minor seizures. Depend-
on what you have & location in brain, surgery may be an
answer. What state are you in?

I also had a few blackout spells, One where I went completely unconscious for about 10 seconds. Yes, I have my mom, and shes been through this with me the whole time but she doesn't really know anyhting about this type of thing. All the doctor said was that my cyst is in my nervous system, in my brain. I have insurance, but none of the doctors seemt o be listening to me when I say what pain im in, And they all dont really do much for me. When i saw a chronic fatigue specialist he told me fainting was common with CFS and wants me to come off of my Trileptal( When i had that blackout and went unconscious, my neuroglist said it was a seizure and put me on it) but the neurologist said i shouldnt. So i dont knwo what to do. In my MRI, i looked at it, and where it is, it looks like a branch and it splits into 2, and onthe left side of it theres nothing, and on the right is the cyst, im not quite sure wehre it is, i didnt see the MRI, but i snuck a peak when i was int he hallway to my neurologist. lol. I'm in massachusetts.

Thanks for your help!!

OK `00', for lack of a better name. Glad ya' have Mom.
Glad ya' got a peek @ MRI. Discription doesn't help as
there are branches all over the brain they highlight &
don't others. GET A COPY of the radiology report & if
necessary, ask reg. Dr. to explain it to you. Location
determines treatment! CFS does NOT cause fainting.
Fatique & weakness. An `EEG' test is always done before
a strong seizure med is used. Use Google w/ this exact:
"Seizure Disorders by Dr. Anthony Murro" it lists all
seizure stuff. Trileptal also gives headaches & double-
vision. Needs to be monitored. Given to pts. w/ partial
seizures: aware of surroundings while having one. You
blackout, it's not a partial. There are good facilities
to evaluate neuro. problems in Mass. Under law, ofc.
must give your Mom a copy. Get it or your not going to
get the right help. I went through hell for 8 yrs w/
head problems. They couldn't see on film clearly so I
had a cyst? 16 Dr's later, I got Dx of a large tumor
infecting my skull. 4 surgeries later, I was told I'll
have follow-up rest of life for recurrence. And what a
shame it wasn't found early! I even got copies made of
films & compared ea. They called it a shadow. I saw the
shadow kept getting bigger. Please take charge & you
both get aggressive. Get busy, 00.

hi guys,i dont know anything bout the cyst but i have intracranial hypertension which is over production of csf fluid in your brain which constantly raises the pressure on your brain.Have u checked out your pressure as if your spinal cord is blocked u will get a build up of pressure which in turn will give u same symptons as intracranial hypertension.i suffer terrible fatigue and weekness along with headaches from hell, dizziness, visual disturbances, tinnitus, tingling, pins and needles, slurred speach, trip on fresh air, short term memory loss and many more symptons.
lumbar puncture is the only way to determine this.
hope some of this helps, good luck
