There are so many possibilities with this symptom. Dizziness is a common symptom with many problems so it's tough to pinpoint what it could be. Do you have other symptoms as well?

You could be dizzy from low blood sugar but this is usually accompanied by cravings for food. Or you could be anemic, dizziness is also a symptom of low iron in the blood. These are just two possibilities.

A few months ago I felt dizzy. Usually when I would bend over or lay on the floor while playing with our dog. I went to the doctor and it turned out that I had fluid behind one of my ears. So fluid behind the ear or an inner ear infection can also cause a person to be dizzy.

Do you feel dizzy upon getting into a standing position? That's my problem -- it's called postural hypotension. In plain english -- low blood pressure. If the dizziness persists, see your doc. You should have your BP checked as well as iron levels, thyroid hormones & blood sugar. All could be factors contributing to the dizziness.

Dizziness usually points to a problem with the inner ear. You can find lots of information on the Inner ear site here. There are other things it could be like, anemia, low blood pressure, thyroid, but most likely inner ear.

have you had any type of cold or sinus infection or somethign like that? i often get sick & with all the drainage it will make me dizzy like that!...i actually had a spell a couple weeks ago! it's mostly just inner ear like the last person said....but when it happens to me when i have a cold, it just hits me like a brick! i'll be fine one minute then the next i can't focus and my head feels real heavy and the room is just spinning! i feel like mywhole body is just going in circles! the best thing for me to do is just lay down for awhile, and sometimes i feel better....and then normally it'll last all day! i'll also get sick if i try to stand up and walk around when i'm doing it...last time everytime i tried to stand up to leave work and go home...i had to run to the bathroom and throw up! it's not fun....but there's a not a whole lot to do for it, just stay warm get plenty of rest, and ask your doctor for some antibiotics or something! good luck & hope you start feeling better! :)
