I have been having hives for quite some time (9 mos) now. I don't have insurance at the moment. I finally went to a doc, 'cause the allergist wouldn't take me with out my seeing a general practitioner 1st (to rule out other reasons....thyroid etc, which tested negative). I've been taking claritin and benadryl, but want testing. Anyhow, my doc, put me on doxepin at night and told me to keep taking claritin.

The doxepin is supposed to help you sleep. Argh!!!! It's keeping me up at night and the next day I'm wiped out. Exhausted, nodding off at noon. The other med they wanted to put me on, they couldn't because I have moderately low blood pressure. Any ideas about doxepin?? I've been on it for 2 weeks now. Am I going to get used to it???
