Hi all. I'm gunna tell ya'll a little bit of what i've been going through, hopefully someone can give me some suggestions.

3 weeks ago this coming sunday i was wrestling with a friend of mine. he had me in this really bizzare position. i was standing, bent over at the waist, he was bent over me from the front, arms around my chest squeezing. i couldnt breath. when he finally decided to let ago, after threats and pleads, i was lightheaded, dizzy, weak, and my vision was completely screwed up. everything looked really really bright, and i was seeing bad tracers.

it's now almost 3 weeks later, my vision is still bad, but not as bad. i have difficulty focusing sometimes, im still seeing minor tracers. for about the past 2 weeks, i get spacey, sometimes dizzy/lightheaded when standing. i can releive the symptoms by sitting down and putting an icepack over my eyes. i sometimes have pressure above my eyes (on the eyes, but the top part). the symptoms return once i stand up. some days are better than others. i have had little to no headaches. i have seen an eye doctor who tested me and dialated my eyes. she said i need a minor prescription. pressure readings were a little high, but other than that im ok. i have had blood tests which were ok. i have had some congestion. family doctor thinks this is sinus related and that this guy may have screwed something up around my ear. i have had a little ringing in the ear but not much. ears feel stuffy at times, i have minor nosebleeds at times (blood doesnt flow freely, only noticable if i stick my finger up there). i look at objects and sometimes they look like they are moving or bent. the ground sometimes feels like its sloping upwards.

any disorientated feelings i may have are completely eliminated when im in the car moving. that may sound bizzare, but its the case. im male, 25 yrs old. i have rhenaulds phenomenon, and apparently tested positive for lupus as a child.

this spaceyness/dizzyness feeling ontop of the vision thing is driving me nuts. i look at the tv, then look away, i'll still see the image sorta, the outline of the light. its difficult to explain. my vision is almost like, but not as bad, as if i were on acid (which i have done, but that was almost 7 years ago). i suffer from depression, anxiety and severe panic attacks, which only seem to make my problem worse.

the doctor told me to rule out anything super severe, like hemorage, cause if that were the case, id most likely be dead or have severe, horrible headaches. if anyone had any suggestions, please please please let me know. im destroying myself over this.

Hi zoviet,

I just read over your post and I have some questions for you. Why didn't they diagnose you with Lupus as a child? The Raynauds goes with Lupus! What are your other symptoms, besides the Neurological ones you posted about?

The eye problems and the visual problems could have definitely been induced by your friend thrashing you around, but if your pressure was increased, why did they just let you go off? Have you had a CT scan or MRI? I think you need one to rule out anything that could be going on in your brain. With Lupus, there is a disorder called Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS) that can cause blood clots. This in itself causes dizziness, weakness, ringing in the ears, headaches/migraines and visual problems. I totally understand your visual problem with looking at the TV and having the light reproduce on the wall! Its so odd. I have APS and I think you need to see a Rheumatologist as soon as you can get in, and make sure it is one that specialises in Lupus. The APS can be checked in your blood with 2 blood tests, the anticardiolipin and antiphospholipid antibodies. I hope this reassures you! Please get back to the doctor, or find a new GP if this one isnt paying attention. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

angelic,

I dont know. When I was around 14 yrs old I was in my room studying and I noticed my hands turned blue. I went to Scotish Rite hospital in Dallas and they use to do tons of blood tests on me and submerge my hands in ice water, really strange. They just said I tested positive for Lupus but dont necessarily have it, whatever that means. But now im sorta getting worried. I suffer from severe anxiety, panic and depression, and all those conditions are fueling the fire and making matters worse for me. I havent seen a specializied Doctor yet cause I dont have insurance. Im working on that. I have my good and bad days. Im really getting pissed off about the eye problem. For example. If im in a room with 1 window. I look out that window, then turn to look at the wall, its super bright. Hard to explain but you said you understand. It's like everything has constant glare. My dizziness onyl seems to effect me when standing up and walking around. My problems seem to get worse though on hot days and after taking a hot shower or bath. Either this is a physical problem that maybe medication can help. Its not getting worse or better, just staying the same. OR im manufacturing all this in my head. *shrug*
