How long do they tend to stay around?
I've got some for like a week now, I just want them to go down in size.
they are in the back of my tongue, when I look at it, it;s like a "v" shape pointed toward to the back of the throat. Some are bigger than others.
thanks for your help

what happend? Did you burn your tongue on something? I would use warm salt water to rinse with and this will help get rid of them.

I did burn myself in the pass week, other than that I ate curry, other than that, I was taking sleeping pills...because of anxiety.(saw some scray things in the past few months) but I'm off it now....does sideeffects of pills last long?

Depends on how sensitive you are to chemicals. If you are really sensitive probably just one day you will be groggy. I take them religiously with no side effects course I built up a tolerence but even when I started I was fine the next day.
For the bumps on the tounge I get then now and then from acidcity foods. Drives me insane. I usually wind up biting them off. I little blood but and a quick pinch but right after no more burning or hurting. My friend get them right before she gets the flu.

If it is a line of larger bumps at the back of your tongue, all next to each other, those are always there and they are fungiform papilla. They are just larger tastebuds. You may have never noticed them before:)

what if they are enlarged...does it take long for them to go away? Can this be related to TMJ...because sometimes my jaw hurts, it does click a lot when i open my mouth.

They are called circumvallate papilla. There are usually 7-15 in a inverted "V" at the back of the tongue and their function is taste sensation. They also happen to be the biggest of the taste buds, unless they are sore I wouldn't worry about it. :)
