I had hysterectomy and both ovaries removed at 44, the best thing I ever did! I felt great after - transformed. Have been on HRT since. Until last January when I stopped HRT, as I wanted to just be off tablets and felt 10 years on hrt was enough. I tailed off it slowly and the hot flushes got going last summer. I wondered how long they might last. Maybe a year or two?

They don't bother me too much although I have about 20 in a day and several at night, except that I have nerve damage on my right side and the sweat evaporating off that upper side is actually painful due to my hypersensitivity. So I look forward to them stopping.

I can't go back on HRT now as I have started with angina in the summer and have confirmed Coronary heart disease, so am now on loads of other pills! LOL!

Any idea how long the hot flushes will last?

try bio-identical natural hormones. They will not hurt your body and you will feel great. The hot flushes will totally disappear. There is a book my doctor has written called The Little Hormone Book. read it - find a natural hormone doctor in your area - you'll be glad that you did.
