Hey ladies!!!! I haven't seen any of you around for a while, but I just wanted to check in to see how all of you and your little ones were doing. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Christmas was pretty fun for us. Although Janicia didnt quite grasp on how to unwrap her gifts herself, she knew that all of the pretty red boxes were for her (ALL of our gifts were wrapped in red, lol, but she didn't care, she wanted them all!). We went to church on New Years Eve, and my little baby was WIDE awake. I had to take her out in the lobby because she was making so much noise...trying to settle herself to sleep....but then she discovered two little girls who were running all over the lobby, and she decided that she wanted to try to keep up with them. She nearly jumped off my lap, and I held her hands as she trotted around the lobby chasing the little girls. It was so cute...but my back was suffering, LOL.
So, Janicia has been pulling herself up on everything that we let her. She likes being in her crib because she can stand up on the rail and inch from side to side. She can also sort of crawl now, so with all of this new mobility, I can't leave her on my bed by herself, or even with my back turned any more. Thankfully, I caught her the only time we've had so far where she nearly fell over the edge.
She's eating a bit more solids now, but pinapples and pears are her favorite...about the only thing I dont have to shovel into her mouth when she's caught off guard with it open, LOL. She loves calling me "Mum-mum" and "Ma-ma", and screaming at me otherwise. She's getting a lot more used to my dad and my brother now, and even reaches for my dad at times. She weighed in at 21lbs at her last appointment, and doesnt have to go back until about March. She's wearing big girl sizes like 24M and 2T because her gut and butt are so big, LOL.

But things have been going good for the two of us. I'm really looking forward to hearing from all of you! :bouncing:

Hey Platnium, Hey All!!

We are doing well! Its so hard to believe Kaleb is almost 7 months old!!! Wow time flies! He went to the Dr. on the 29th and was 16 lbs and 2 oz, and 26 1/2 inches long, he is doing GREAT!!! He is loving this whole food thing and gets so excited when you walk towards him with a bowl! Or a bottle actually! I have been very lucky considering I work full time that I have actually seen him roll from tummy to back and back to tummy for the first time.

We did have a bit of a shocking surprise on 12/23 and we found out we were pregnant again, but our shock and excitement was short lived as I miscarried on the 31st. But I dealt with it well, I think having Kaleb really helped, plus I was starting to worry about having them TOO close, but the Lord took care of the situation. Don't get me wrong, I didn't want it to end, but the Lord knows best and I pray he will bless us again with a healthy baby in the future.

Platnium, Janica sounds like she is doing well, she is already pulling up. WOW!!! Kaleb moves well when he is laying around scooting or sliding or however he does it, but you put him in the middle (play yard or blanket) and he gets all over the thing. He has started putting weight on his knees but hasn't moved any. He was a bit over whelmed at Christmas, he liked ripping the paper but didn't understand why we kept taking it away from him instead of letting him chew on it.

Kaleb is really teething, but still has no teeth. Well hope to hear from everyone else. Take care.

HI all!! I am here! Boy do I feel like my son is far behind you all and I think he is the oldest! He will be 8 months old on the 26th. He is not crawling, nor pulling himself up or able to stay on his hands and knees... he moves around on his stomach quite a bit, but just in circles. Now I am worried that he is far behind other regular babies 8o(

Otherwise, things are going well, Ethan eats and eats like a little piggy... he eats all sorts of things from carrots to sweet potaotes to turkey (all jarred pureed food of course).

Good to hear from all you ladies again!

Yay!!! I am so happy to hear from you ladies. Motherof3, welcome to the June 04 Mommy club, lol. Teresa, you are absolutely right about how God makes things happen for a reason. I've heard that all of my life, and now, I make sure that every time something doesn't go the way I planned or had hoped, that I remember those very words...even if we don't see the benefit or reason until much later, it's still there.

Mary Jane, I was wondering the same thing about Janicia not too long ago. She hasn't been toying with as many letter sounds as other babies that other moms have told me about. But I was reading in a book on baby development, and learned that during this time, babies go off onto their own routes....becoming individuals. What I mean is that, different babies start branching off to learn different things...they put their focus on one (or a few) new thing(s) to learn. While Janicia has not been saying much more than "mum-mum", "mama", and simply screaming, she has been toying with her motor skills. And even if Ethan isn't babbling his little head off, trust that he actually is developing. He may be learning to use his fingers more craftily so that he can pick things up and manipulate them better, or even feed himself, he could be observing things around him...enhancing his sight and understanding how things work, etc. So don't worry yourself over his development too much. The most that you can do for him is just let him have more "tummy time" on a blanket on the floor, and allow him to find out what he can do...he may surprise the both of you!!! The bright side of it is that you aren't yet worrying about leaving him on the floor to crawl and get into something he isnt supposed to have, or to pull up on a piece of furniture that he gets excited on and falls onto the sharp or hard corner and hurts himself. ;)
