Hi

I have been taking Aygestin, i.e. primulot N synthetic progesterone for four years now it's 15mg a day and no periods!!! It's great, but I wonder whether my menopause is affected by this, and should I stop taking it? I really would like to know if anyone is on the same regimen of this and what they did? I'm getting more and more symptoms now with the menopause but wonder how would I know when it's over, if I am taking this pill which stops periods anyway? Also because my periods were sooooo bad before being put on this I'm scared to stop incase that all comes back again.
Ain't it great being a woman?

I have a similar question. I started having nearly continuous bleeding 2 years ago while on the Pill, and finally ended up on depo provera which is a progesterone. I almost never bleed now which is great, but I wonder what it will do to menopause. I'm 48.

I was also diagnosed as hypertensive when I went to the doctor for the bleeding, so have been dealing with blood pressure meds as well.

I very occasionally feel warm and slightly flushed (most of the time I am cold), sometimes for no apparent reason my heartrate is rapid, sometimes I feel anxious also for no reason, and I can't sleep worth crap. My father couldn't sleep, and one of my brothers is an insomniac, so I figured I'd inherited that, although I used to be able to sleep. My mother had trouble with anxiety and depression, so I figured I had some of that, although again I didn't used to be anxious. The flushing and palpatations and rapid pulse I atributed to bp meds, but maybe all these things are related to menopause? I don't have sisters and my mother is dead, as are all my aunts, so I don't have any female relatives to ask.
