hello all.
i started having a weird itching in the groin some 6-8 months ago. at first i dismissed it as some mere hygeine problem but it appears to be much worse than that. i keep my groin clean and i bathe at least twice a day but it still itches like crazy. the skin in my groin seems to shed itself within the day. like if i bathe in the morning, there will be a load of powdery like stuff (which i believe it to be skin) by 8-9 pm at night. could this be eczema? i haven't had sex in years so this is most probably not an std or anything of that sort. please help.

sounds like you have yeast infection. not sure thou.
coz my husband has yeast infection (compliments of myself)
and he started flaking from the tip of his member.
... it is not a STD thou it can be spread by having sex
with infected person.

What are the symptoms of yeast infection?
i'm having the skin peeling and itching only in the skin folds in the groin...the part between the testicles and the thighs on both sides. nothing to do with my member. can i post up a picture of this?of course there will be no private parts included.

Sounds like a trip to the doctor might be in order--either your GP or a dermatologist.
Try to make sure your symptoms are peaking when the doctor sees you.

You might want to try eliminating all fragance from laundry and soap for two weeks to rule out contact dermatitis. Arm & Hammer makes a good unscented liquid laundry detergent. And give it all an extra rinse.
Is there any redness apart from scratching the itch? Hives can be merged into a general red area.

Nope, there aren't any red areas. just that the skin has turned scaly from the scratching. i've been using everything as usual all this while...i mean the fragranced detergents. what are the chances of this sort of dermatitis suddenly cropping up?
