Hi Marti. I just thought I would fill you in and get some more advice as to how my progress is going.
It has been 3 months now since I started with the thymol. It seems about 40% of my infected fungal toenail has grown out. Awesome! BUT the new nail dosen't seem to be pink--it's white-beige which is much nicer than yellowish brown.
Does it take a long time to see nice healthy pink nail? Is it the thymol whisking all the moisture from the nail making it look that way? Also can't see a half moon yet at all. The nail still seems a little deformed as well.
I am sorry to keep pesturing you with all my questions but I trust you will have the answers. Thanks Again!!!

A little discoloration is quite normal as the thymol helps to prevent the infection from reaching the deeper portions of the nail unit. If the infection is on your toenail, you won't see the matrix (the half-moon). If it is on your fingernail, you won't see the matrix until the nail has completely replaced itself and you stop using the Thymol.

Thanks Marti, but I can clearly see the matrix on my other unaffected great toenail.

Therein lies the difference; the infected one is compromised and the other one isn't. An infection can compromise the entire nail unit until the infection is 'killed' and a healthy nail is completely replaced with new cells. This can take up to a year, and that is only IF the infection is completely dead.

Okay now I understand. Thanks again Marti. I promise not to bother you for at least another few months LOL!!!
