Hi Molly, It now seems I have had symptoms for a very long time!!!! I would say at 50, my first real indication was 3 months w/o a period.
The gyn put me on Mircette which I have taken for the past 2 years,
and stopped this summer. I just felt my body was out of whack
taking the bcp. I am using a progesterone creme, though not sure it
is helping anything. This past year has been really up and down. For one
thing, there are new neighbors ..... I have cats...the owners do not seem to like cats.......last
spring, the son was shooting at my cats with a bb pistol! Talk about
anxiety.....I became totally frightened, had to leave lights on in the house,
and felt sick about my cats. I did find homes for some of them, they didnt
deserve to be hurt!! My belief kept telling me ..just keep being nice,..........
They still make me nervous, not
frightened,............... And thats no way to have to live,
but what do you do?? Maybe I am supposed to learn patience with something like this....I must be a slow learner :) Thanks to you and all who post about this frustrating time in our lives!!! :)

Hi LInda,
Hey, if you had your symptoms since 50 and you're about to turn 52 that means you also started having symptoms rather on the late side like me. When was the last time you had your period? I haven't had one since June 04 and before that it was Nov. 03. What are you symptoms? How do you feel on a daily basis? Are you taking supplements?

The horrible neighbors you have - that isn't helping you at all! How horrible that your cats been shot at!!!! I can totally understand how stressful and fearful it can be to have neighbors that you do not know how dangerous they can be. I had a neighbor who harassed me for 3 yrs over my little dog claiming she barked in the yard when I was at work. She was never in the yard alone - always in the house!! I live in a valley like area so things echo and he thought it was her. The a-hole painted signs on my front door w/wallpaper glue, threw eggs & stuff into my yard and he didn't even live next door to me (about 4 houses away!). I have a police report against him (for vandalism done to my house), had called 911 on him before, sprayed him with a water hose, took pics of him transpassing, etc. He stopped after I had him on videotape (he knew it) and when he realized I had a my boyfriend who existed and could probably beat the crap out of him. He ended up apologizing and had the nerve to want to invite me over for dinner! Sick! Anyway, I was always afraid that he could poison my dog or set my house on fire, etc. so I know how stressful this all is. Why is it that so many good people die and these kinds of people live so long?!! Sometimes people get a kick of harrassing and trying to intimidate you thinking you won't do anything to stand up for yourself.

Is that son a punk? Have they talked to you about your cats or did they just start doing stuff to you?

Hi Molly,
Since I have been on the bcp I did have a regular period....stopped taking the bcp in August....no period until Thanksgiving. December no
actual period...one day of some bleeding, then its been spotty since. Thats why I stopped the bcp, on it you always have a period. I do take supplements, in fact just started a new vitamin pack ...its for stress etc. I also take a supplement that is all natural, supposed to support the endocrine system, plus help burn off fat and suppost the immune system. I was only taking 1 a day, though instructions say 1 3x a day....I am going to start the 3 x a day now. I dont know if the one a day is doing anything, have a friend
who thought one a day was all she needed. It does have the mexican
wild yam in it. I am trying to do most of this naturally.

As for neighbors, I feel they do intimidate me somewhat, but if I get my toes stepped on one too many times......look out!! Last new years they shot off fireworks at midnight, woke us up, I yelled out the window that people were trying to sleep! Thats what brought on the cat business, this house had been vacant several years....no yard, all dirt...so my cats had their own
litter box :D ......after the fireworks, the neighbor sent over a note that the cats were a problem, they were pooping in their yard. :o .....so I gathered my thoughts, very nicely called and said my husband and I would be glad to rake it all up! And we did!!!!!!! These people do not work, do not have a phone, you know the kind....use whoever they can. Its just a no win situation......what I am trying to do now is just ignore them, though we are not on bad terms.......I do not feel the need to help them or take care of them. As with everything else.....I hope praying for the sign, this too shall
pass!!!! And it will.......some day! Thank goodness I didnt have them doing anything to our house like with you. Doesnt it make you wonder, where the heck do people like this come from.....under a rock????
Us baby boomers have to stick together!!!!!!!! Have a great evening..thanks for all your help........ :)

Hey Linda,
What kind of supplement are you taking that is supporting the endocrine system and helping burn off fat and support the immune system? Do you notice a difference? Does it really work? I don't have a lot of fat to burn but I could use a little help in the belly area...LOL!

Now that you're off the BCP, you can now see how "irregular" your period will really be. I had my last period in June 04 and before that it was Nov. 03 so I hope I'm not going to get it again.

I think you're doing the right thing by ignoring the neighbors. There are a lot of crazies around these days and you have to be careful - they aren't worth your energy and time anyway - just make sure they don't harm your cats!

Take care,
molly
