I was on Depo Provera for about 6 or 7 years and have recently switched to Yasmin, I've been taking that for 3 months now. I have since relized how hostile and angry I was with Depo. However since the switch I am crying all the time at every little thing. I cry at commercials, I cry just looking at some people. I called 4 people yesterday to tell them that a friend had a baby and I could barely tell anyone the news over my crying. :( Has anyone else had this reaction to Yasmin? I'm affraid to switch to another pill because I haven't had any problems with Yasmin like no breakthrough bleeding, no weight gain ect. I just want to know if this is a somewhat normal reaction or if maybe I'm just loosing my mind. Please help. Thanks :)

It is normal because of the hormones. The more you get used to the pill and the hormones the more likely this will go away. Since you haven't had any other bad side effects, I would stay on the Yasmin for a few more months and see how it goes. Take care!

I thought Yasmin was the worst BCP I'd ever been on. If you do a search on this website for Yasmin, you will see many people suffered depression on Yasmin. I quit taking it -- I would ask your dr. for something else. Yasmin has the most progestin of any BCP; progesterone/progestin is what causes depression, fatigue, lack of sex drive, all that good stuff. Good luck! Cyndee
