I'm a 59 year old male who was diagnosed with choridal melanoma in 1997. The cancer was in my only useful eye. After three trans-pupilary thermo therapy (laser) treatments the cancer appears to be in remission. Probably as a result of the treatments, the encapsulating membrane over the vitreus is attached to and dragging the retina. This causes blurred vision. The retina specialist suggests a vitrectomy. My research has determined this procedure is extremely risky with a high possibility of increased or total loss of sight in the eye. Has anyone had any experience with this procedure? siee@qcol.net
